Oreo Magic Bars

Oreo Magic bars are a delightful treat that combines the iconic flavours of Oreos with the rich sweetness of magic bars. Each bite is a perfect harmony of crunchy cookie crumbs, chewy coconut, gooey condensed milk, and decadent chocolate chips. The contrasting textures and flavours create a truly indulgent experience that will satisfy any sweet tooth. This easy Oreo bar will be a huge hit with your family or friends.

What is a Magic Bar?

These bars go by a few different names, like a 7-Layer Bars or Hello Dollies but I live in Australia so I actually had no idea what a Magic bar was. Until I did a bit of experimenting and made one for myself (Which you can find the recipe here). Magic Bars are very simple and a super delicious, layered dessert bar that consists of a crumbly biscuit crust, topped with, coconut, chocolate, and nuts (some people even add butterscotch). Everything then sticks together with gooey sweetened condensed milk that caramelizes on top when baked.

So, since I already made the original Magic Bar, I thought why not add a twist to it and make an Oreo flavoured Magic bar! because who doesn’t love Oreos.

How To Assemble the Oreo Magic Bar:

1. Firstly, you pour your Oreo crumb mixture into your prepared pan with evenly spread/press down using a spatula and measuring cup to help evenly flatten the base.

2. Then you evenly scatter a layer of desiccated coconut all over the Oreo base.

3. Followed by 2/3 of your pecans, chocolate chips and chopped Oreos.

4. Then you pour over the sweetened condensed milk and spread for even coverage. Top the remaining pecans, chocolate chips and chopped Oreos. Bake for 30-35 minutes and you have a delicious golden Oreo Magic Bar.

Ingredients

Oreo Magic Bars

• 270g Oreo Cookies (Fine Crumb)
• 80g Unsalted Butter (Melted)
• 80g Desiccated Coconut
• 200g Dark Chocolate Chips
• 200g White Chocolate Chips
• 75g Pecans (Roughly Chopped)
• 90g Oreo Cookies (Roughly Chopped)
• 395g Sweetened Condensed Milk

Instructions

Oreo Magic Bars

1. Preheat the oven to 160°C. Grease and line an 8-inch square pan with parchment paper. Set aside.
2. Using either a food processor or a zip lock bag and a rolling pin, blitz/crush the Oreo cookies until you get a fine crumb.
3. Pour the Oreo crumbs in a medium bowl and mix in your melted butter until combined.
4. Pour the Oreo mixture into your prepared pan, using a spatula evenly spread the mixture to cover the bottom of the pan. Using a measuring cup, press the crumb to flatten the base.
5. Evenly scatter over the coconut, followed by 2/3 of the pecans, both chocolate chips and chopped Oreos.
6. Pour over the condensed milk and spread for even coverage.
7. Top with the remaining pecans, both chocolate chips and chopped Oreos.
8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden.
9. Allow to cool fully in the pan.
10. Carefully remove from the pan and cut into as many pieces as you like.
11. Enjoy!
