Baking Tips:

  • Chocolate: You don’t have to use dark chocolate; milk chocolate also works well…however I much prefer dark chocolate especially with the coconut oil, as they complement each other very well.

  • Chocolate Melts: You don’t have to use chocolate melts; I use it for the simplicity of not needing to chop them up. You can however use cooking chocolate; you will just need to roughly chop the bar up as it makes it a lot easier to melt in the microwave.

  • Blueberries: Make sure to use fresh non frozen blueberries as it gives a better flavour and juicier texture. Frozen blueberries also get too soft once thawed and have too much moisture which makes it incredibly hard for the chocolate to stick to them.

  • Dry the blueberries: Once you have washed your blueberries, make sure to dab them completely dry as this is crucial to make sure the chocolate adheres smoothly to the surface of the berries.

  • Coconut Oil: I highly recommend using coconut oil with your dark chocolate as it creates a smooth, silky texture that coats the blueberries beautifully. It also gives the dark chocolate a small hint of coconut which really compliments the blueberries.
