The rich, velvety dark chocolate perfectly complements the plump and juicy blueberries, creating a harmonious balance of flavors. With each bite, you experience a burst of sweetness from the blueberries followed by the deep, slightly bitter notes of the dark chocolate.
These dark chocolate covered blueberries are a super simple and easy recipe, made in only 10 minutes! they’re also a much healthier and low carb option for snacking.
Baking Tips:
Chocolate: You don’t have to use dark chocolate; milk chocolate also works well…however I much prefer dark chocolate especially with the coconut oil, as they complement each other very well.
Chocolate Melts: You don’t have to use chocolate melts; I use it for the simplicity of not needing to chop them up. You can however use cooking chocolate; you will just need to roughly chop the bar up as it makes it a lot easier to melt in the microwave.
Blueberries: Make sure to use fresh non frozen blueberries as it gives a better flavour and juicier texture. Frozen blueberries also get too soft once thawed and have too much moisture which makes it incredibly hard for the chocolate to stick to them.
Dry the blueberries: Once you have washed your blueberries, make sure to dab them completely dry as this is crucial to make sure the chocolate adheres smoothly to the surface of the berries.
Coconut Oil: I highly recommend using coconut oil with your dark chocolate as it creates a smooth, silky texture that coats the blueberries beautifully. It also gives the dark chocolate a small hint of coconut which really compliments the blueberries.
